Just Shut Up & Listen

The biggest issue that I hear from students, especially girls, is that they just want their parents to listen to them. I am almost convinced that they don't even care if they even hear everything they say, but that they have their attention for a few minutes a day.

I have a couple of chairs in my office; one for my office aide and the other for any student that needs to talk. Both chairs are occupied all day long and I have the joy of listening while I work.

McKayla was my last office aide. She "graduated" early and moved to Vernal to pursue her dream of being a country gal. She takes great photos, has the cutest dimples and her eyes turn a beautiful green when she's happy. I miss listening to her!

Sad Day

It's a sad day when you are watching a new movie, think the man in it is HOT and then realize you are old enough to be his mom!

Pumpkin Carving 2012

We carved pumpkins at Katie's house this weekend. It is always fun to get together, eat chili and watch the kids (and some adults) get creative with their pumpkins.

There isn't anything Justin and I love more than spending time with family.

Zero Expectations

Don't expect to be writing to many blogs for the next week. I have been super busy and it doesn't look like it's going to ease up for a bit. I would like to say however that I had an awesome time teaching art to Dax's class.  I was surprised that at least half the class knew who Edvard Munch was and what his famous painting was called. The kids had a great time painting,were pretty proud of their creations and some of them were quite talented. Makes me wonder what I was like in 3rd grade.

I even managed not to embarrass Dax!
