I woke up pretty grumpy this morning. I think I ate too much sugar yesterday and was experiencing a "low". My apologies to my coworkers, my students and to my family and friends.
I would like to thank Adam (a very insightful student) for providing me with a ton of synonyms for the word ornery, Matt for rushing to my rescue, my father-in-law, Dave, for fixing my leaking dishwasher, my mom-in-law, Marie, for the hug, my best friend, Melissa, for helping me pick flooring amongst the chaos, to my dad for just dropping by after I used the mother of all swear words on the phone, to my children for playing outside while I cried and to my husband for coming home early just cuz...
Holy crap, when it rains, it pours! My hope is I am just menopausal and this craziness will pass...
On a lighter note, I am super excited (and nervous) to teach Dax's art class tomorrow! Seriously though, The House of Usher and The Scream for 8 year olds???

Great Day
It never ceases to amaze me the people that go out of their way to wish me a happy birthday. It's kind of cool to have such a flood of love.

Serenity Now
Dax likes to use the camera and he is pretty good at using it.
He took this from our backyard in January 2011.

One Thousand Words (swear words)
So Justin and I were browsing through Lowes this afternoon and I had gone off on my own to look at some fire pits. I found one I liked and pulled it off the shelf... When Justin and the boys came to find me, I asked Justin if he liked it - and where he was going to get some wood. He turns to look at me and starts laughing hysterically. I thought he was thinking about "getting some wood" and laughing 'cause he is a little perverted, but this what he was laughing at...
Wait for it....
Wait for it....

Dax's Accident
Most have you have seen this on Facebook, but I felt (and so does Dax) that his first major accident was blog worthy...
This happened about a month ago and involved the dark and a bike. He was a trooper, in fact I think he was pretty proud of his wounds. This boy has amazing reflexes and balance. He hasn't ever broke a bone or had a stitch, which is just amazing because he doesn't stop running or climbing.
I should have got a picture of his chest, which was covered in gravel and the back of his shirt with the tire tracks, but I didn't. He rolled his eyes at me when I told him "chicks dig scars".

Jill & Dax
This was a cute pic I took of Jill and Dad at Lake Powell this year. Even though Jill's cousins (her age) were not able to make this trip she still went.
She said that since she was moving out (yes, she moved out the middle of Aug), she wanted to make the trip to spend time with her brothers...

Snowy 2 Toes
This dog doesn't mind, he has way too much energy, he likes to pee on men named Dave, he grunts, his tongue to too long, he snarfs his food, he breaks huge rawhide bones into little pieces, hides them and then growls at them if he can't reach them or forgets where he's put them. He has a really quirky personality and if anyone asks me if I would get another puppy, I'd say "hell no"...
BUT, I love having him around and he makes me laugh as much as he makes me want to pull my hair out and my kids adore him.
