Busted, in the Wind

Here is a funny story about a boy, Derrick, and a girl, Jennifer. Derrick and Jennifer were friends although Derrick always wished there was more to it. Derrick was a self-proclaimed musician and poet. Here is a love letter that Derrick wrote Jennifer, they were both 17 years.

Dearest Jennifer,
You are my best friend and confidant. You inspire me to write my poetry and lyrics. This is what I wrote for you, my one true friend.

I close my eyes, only for a moment, and the moment's gone
All my dreams, pass before my eyes, a curiosity
Dust in the wind, all they are is dust in the wind.
Same old song, just a drop of water in an endless sea
All we do, crumbles to the ground, though we refuse to see

Dust in the wind, all we are is dust in the wind

Don't hang on, nothing lasts forever but the earth and sky
It slips away, and all your money won't another minute buy.

Dust in the wind, all we are is dust in the wind
Dust in the wind, everything is dust in the wind.

Yours forever, Derrick

SERIOUSLY FOLKS, WHO IS THIS GUY KIDDING? Yes, this was a love letter written to me by one of my friends. You can now see the quality of guys I used to hang around with in high school. At least he took the time out of his busy musician's schedule to plagiarize a song for me! I still have this letter...
